First, let me say I love this author and have been going through an impressive collection of her works. But this book; my 7th, 8th, or so book is my least favorite. It is not that it is not fantastic writing. It is because it was so darn frustrating! The back and forth miscommunication and lack of common sense between two hearts was maddening! And don't get me started on the villains of the story. I actually looked forward to the ending, and what an ending it was. The ending did make up for the frustration I felt from the start of the book, so all was not lost. Just take my advice, if you're new to the author, don't start with this book. I'm off to read the 2nd book in this series and will hope for less head beating the wall moments.

The oldest of 3 De Ware Brothers. Hides his wealth & title, to find love for himself alone. I like that he takes care of his 20 children. & Keeps knights honor to protect the Wool merchant. She thinks he is a commoner & foolishly trusts the evil thieves. Well plotted. Thanks Series. Characters including his family. I especially like their mother. I also like their father.

I had hoped this would be old-fashioned fun reminiscent of The Three Musketeers combined with heavy dose of romance, but My Champion quickly proved itself to be little more than historical slapstick centered around two largely unlikable and two-dimensional characters. The truly humorous moments were generally ruined by Linet's ignorance and pompous attitude, and if you ask me, Duncan should have just thrown her overboard and called it a day.
