More on Hart Land Lakeside Inn:

Come and stay in one of the quaint and cozy cottages at Hart Land—but be warned, once you meet the family and delightful cast of characters, you may never want to leave.

Fiona Hart is the devoted matriarch. Elegant, wise, and arts patron, but despite all her efforts, she has yet to find her own artistic outlet. Lucy isn’t just a housekeeper, she’s part of the family. She also fancies herself a real life Dolly Levy, except she’s much better at cooking up trouble than the perfect match. Innkeeper and retired general Harold Hart believes in hard work, discipline, and whatever his beloved wife wants. Katie O’Leary runs the One Stop, makes the best Irish soda bread this side of the Blarney Stone, and no one is quite sure if it’s more than her baking that has the magic touch. Did we mention the Harts have nine granddaughters?

Having grown up spending summers together on the lake, the cousins are as close as sisters—closer. Each woman knows there’s no place like Hart Land. They can always count on their grandfather’s gruff, their grandmother’s sage advise, Lucy’s fresh baked cookies, Katie’s inspiration, the calming scent of fresh air—and each other.

Follow along with friends, family, neighbors, and guests as the Harts maneuver life’s curves, and just maybe find love along the way.

As a Special Bonus Heather includes a treat from Lily's Recipe Box!

At the start I wasn't sure but as the description of each family member well written with great heart you were pulled into the family and friends. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the main characters were strong and believable.

Sweet and awesome, Chris Keniston's new Hart Land series continues her tradition of warm and wonderful romances with a strong dash of family and humor. I fell in love with Heather, the first book in the series as quickly as I have her other books. This extended family of Grandparents, mothers, cousins, and Lucy who has been the housekeeper for so long that she is family offers multidimensional characters and unique stories with some of the humor coming from Lucy's oh-so-obvious matchmaking and the grandparents' more subtle efforts. While each book standalone, there is an under the table story about the grandparents that I cannot wait to see explained. I love that while the stories have a certain pattern due to the matchmaking efforts, they do not fall into a formula beyond the fact that they will end up together and that is no spoiler. Heather is a surgical resident with a highly acclaimed cardiac surgeon who has returned to town for a short visit out of concern for her grandfather. Nothing will get in her way from completing her residency and starting her career. Jake is an old friend who is perfectly content having bought the local hardware store. He has no intentions of leaving what to him is the perfect town. As a fan of Ms. Keniston's Farraday novels, I requested this ARC and was more than pleased with the new series. It is not yet as good as the Farradays, but few romances are. I still loved it. We are talking an 9 star as opposed to a 10-star love.

This book is a well written romantic novel. I love the fact that the writer did not spend so much time detailing love scenes like most authors do which I consider as too much icing and too little cake. Thank you so much for more cake than icing, it is more fulfilling. Thank you also for completing the story and not leaving it as a cliffhanger which I find quite anoying. Lastly thank you for making this copy free.
