Just when I thought navigating high school was bad enough, I woke up to a rotting, post-apocalyptic world! I thought that the poisonous swamp surrounding my small island would have protected me from all the drama, but what did I see staggering my way? A nasty, putrid zombie! With nothing left to lose, I shoved it away! To my surprise, it turned into a living, breathing, not-so-dead human!

So, I have the power to purify zombies. And now I’m expected to save this undead world from the zombie apocalypse? Great. This is so NOT my problem!

Based on concepts and stories originated by H.G. Wells!

The "Martian Invasion" has begun again and now mankind must fight, not only for their homes, but for their very humanity. Aliens were the stuff of legends, fairy tails, to scare children or to entertain those wanting to escape the mundane existence of their lives. Few took aliens seriously, let alone saw them as a threat. Yet as mankind busied itself about their petty affairs, they were being scrutinized and studied, perhaps as narrowly as a scientist might watch under the microscope of the microbes that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. It happened slowly at first but by the third year, it seemed that the war was almost over...the war was almost lost. And humanity was not going to be the winner this time.

THIS ISSUE: Kansas City is in ruins! Mother McFadden lies near death within the devastation! Meanwhile the council of Haven is trying to exile both Julie and Hope as the terror of the Hellweed continues to ravage the town. But has Dr. Smith found a cure against this cancer of the Martians? And can he develop the formula before Haven is completely overrun? Word of the collapse of Kansas City reaches Julie and she decides that now is the time to leave Haven and try to help the resistance in Kansas City. But is it already too late?

"Randy Zimmerman has a fine grasp of drama, and spins the various strands of the story into a coherent whole...imaginative and very gritty." - war-of-the-worlds.co.uk

THIS ISSUE: With the command center now destroyed the resistance has little, if anything, left to combat the alien's onslaught. Steven Koch remains trapped in a cellar by the Black Smoke, while Lewis and Mother McFadden try to dig their way out from what's left of the command center. At Haven, the Hellweed begins to absorb the Haven Medical Center with disastrous results. Can the people of Haven stop the ravaging weed before it envelopes the entire town? Meanwhile Julie and Dr. Smith face the Haven Town Council as it tries to decide what action they will take against them for bringing the terror of the Hellweed to Haven.

THIS ISSUE: What is left of the resistance in the Midwest tries to stage a last stand against the Martians. After clearing a line of attack from Haven to Kansas City, Julie LaRouque tries to organize what is left of the resistance for a desperate all out attack on the Martian Hellweed factory. If they fail then the Hellweed will terraform the Earth's atmosphere to that of the Martians within a few years! In the darkest hours of the River City's occupation could come the brightest hope, not just for the Midwest, but for all of humanity. Our story reaches its climax in this all action issue.
