If anyone had told me a year ago that I would become fascinated by the sport MMA, I would not have believed it. It's sweaty (which I hate), athletic (which I'm not) and out of my comprehension. Needless to say it happened. Lori Foster's sexy Ultimate series has drawn me into this hard as nails world with sexy stories of romantic suspense. I requested an ARC of Fighting Dirty from NetGalley and Harlequin in exchange for an honest review. Armie is all for control. His chosen career demands it, his libido craves it and his minds needs it. His mindset helps him escape memories that are not pretty. He finds all that slipping by the wayside whenever Merissa is around. His primal instincts kick into high gear and that could prove detrimental mentally and physically for this forbidden match. Fighting Dirty is extreme, hot and dirty. This is a story about facing the past in order to start the future.

Ahhh, finally Armie and Rissy's story! And what a great conclusion to this series, although I'm so sad to see it come to an end. I've loved everyone of these books! I know we've all been patiently, or not so patiently in some cases, waiting for Armie's book, and it does not disappoint! Lori Foster has done an incredible job wrapping up the Ultimate series, sending this amazing family of friends off in the fashion they deserve. We've seen Armie and Merissa circling around each other since this series began- the sexual tension between the two was palpable, the chemistry off the charts. And it all comes to a head in Fighting Dirty. Their story is everything I could have hoped for, and more. After the brief glimpses we saw of Armie in the previous books, it was terrific to see at last what made him tick, why he did some of the things he did, and why he shied away from being with Rissy, when we all knew, (even Cannon knew!), that they belonged together. It's really quite fun seeing these strong, alpha males brought to their knees by a woman. And Merissa sure gave Armie a run for his money. Once she decided Armie was going to be hers, she didn't let anything or anyone stand in her way, not even Armie himself. And that was probably the best thing for him, to have a woman like Merissa by his side. I've loved all the couples in these books, but I have to say Armie and Rissy hold a special place. I think because I've watched them circle around each other from the beginning, and have been intrigued by Armie since the first time he was introduced. He's such a contradiction- strong and stoic, with a happy-go-lucky side, but you just know deep down there's a lot more to him than meets the eye. And Merissa is every bit his equal. I'm just really sad this is the end to the Ultimate series, but it couldn't have ended with a better story. I'm sure going to miss Harper and Gage, Cannon and Yvette, Denver and Cherry, Stack and Vanity, and Armie and Merissa. But I'm excited for the new bodyguard series to come, and can only hope these guys will be making surprise appearances!

I've been anticipating Merissa and Armie's story and I wasn't disappointed. I so loved this book that I read it in a day and a half because I just couldn't put it down. I love Lori's style of writing. Armie is a MMA fighter with a rep for his bedroom activities, but Merissa has always been his weakness. He's never made a move because she's his best friends' little sister. Merissa has had a crush on Armie right back, but she can't get to him acknowledge the chemistry between them until an event brings them close together. Things get pretty steamy between them. Armie's past is rearing it's ugly head as he's on the cusp of his SBC debut. Someone is also after Merissa. Armie's plate is pretty full, but can he keep Merissa safe? I really liked Armie. He's this big bad fighter, but he is brought to his knees by Merissa. This new group of friends I really love. The easy Camaraderie and razzing. You can tell how close knit they are. I can't wait for Lori's next series where we see characters from this group get their stories told. Really looking forward to Leese's story. I really enjoyed visiting characters from Lori's SBC Fighters series. For me that was just awesome. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
