About this ebook

Willow Taylor lives in a castle with large walls and iron fences. But this is no ordinary castle. It’s called Heartstone Psychiatric Hospital and it houses forty other patients. It has nurses with mean faces and techs with permanent frowns.

It has a man, as well. A man who is cold and distant. Whose voice drips with authority. And whose piercing gray eyes hide secrets, and maybe linger on her face a second too long.

Willow isn’t supposed to look deep into those eyes. She isn’t supposed to try to read his tightly-leashed emotions. Neither is she supposed to touch herself at night, imagining his powerful voice and that cold but beautiful face.

No, Willow Taylor shouldn’t be attracted to Simon Blackwood at all.

Because she’s a patient and he’s her doctor. Her psychiatrist.

The medicine man.

NOTE: A STANDALONE novel set in the Heartstone world.

KEYWORDS: Forbidden romance, age gap romance, older man younger woman romance, angsty romance, patient doctor romance, alpha male romance, coming of age romance, opposites attract romance, grumpy hero sunshine heroine

I just loved this book and everything about it. With a powerful emotional storyline that beautifully blends steamy romance with heart aching poignancy. Willow and Simon are an amazing couple. Both strong and yet both broken. This book is a forbidden romance (patient/Doctor, (younger woman/older man) but it is also so much more. It deals with the sensitive subject of mental illness in a way that provides a look into something that is complex and so complicated in a relatable and eye opening way. Willow's struggle with her illness, accepting who she is and why she does the things she does are balanced perfectly with all the other things that make Willow so perfect. Simon is a man that is wounded and broken in his own way and together they fit so perfectly together, that honestly I did not ever doubt that they were meant for each other. There is drama, angst, humor, sweetness, love, tenderness, heartbreak and hot passion blended into a plot that captures and holds your attention so easily. I do hope that many of the secondary characters get their own books. This was my first book by this author but it will not be my last.

Medicine Man by Saffron Kent has it all. It's a red hot doctor/patient forbidden romance with an age gap to boot. But it also has a dark side to it, it's set in a psychiatric hospital where Willow Taylor is a patient who is being treated for clinical depression. Dr Simon Blackwood is her psychiatrist, he's cold and distant and not without his secrets. The storyline is handled sensitively and well written. It's a funny, sad, uplifting, and sexy read with characters you'll fall in love with. I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Saffron A Kent has an amazing gift for storytelling. She's written a sensitive taboo tale and filled it with real emotion and drama. The idea of a doctor/patient relationship hits a whole new level when the pair meet in a psychiatric hospital. The story edges into darkness as the harsh reality of their lives unfolds. My lord, Simon and Willow have an intense and erotic relationship, but it also serves to heal them both. Ms Kent has infused their story with a balance of heart and heat that had me spellbound. I loved Simon. He seems stiff and unfeeling, the product of a disciplined upbringing, but he's got layers of pain and heartache just like the patients he treats. Willow is both feisty and fragile. A weary soul in a young woman's body, coming to terms with all her hidden inner fire, passion, and pain. This is an incredible book...maybe my favorite from Ms Kent to date. I can't say enough good things about how this story affected me. It's a 5+ star rollercoaster of feelings!
