Pepper’s magic isn’t strong or reliable but she keeps trying. Charles wants to get away from his matchmaking mother, so the shifter town of Greysdon and a new restaurant is an easy choice. When these two “misfits” meet it’s not all roses and rainbows. As fated mates they should be inseparable, but not for them. Humorous and spicy, another great addition to the Magical Midlife series. I am so excited that Pepper finally gets her mate - Pepper and Charles story is a great enemy to lovers romance where nothing is hidden in her house. Pepper seems to be around when anyone finds their mate, happy but also upsetting, she is just wanting to find hers. Charles is a shifter, but he is not just one animal but several that makes his beast not as simple as others. Charles recognizes Pepper as his mate from the start but refuses to accept her and wants to push her away.

The fifth book in the Magical Midlife Romance, Pepper and Charles' story is a short well written one that held my interest throughout. This series gets better with each new story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
