About this ebook

Annie: As a child I was unwanted and unloved. Tossed aside until my maternal grandmother came to claim me. Life got better after that, and it got better still when I met Ethan Michaels, the boy down the street who was determined to make me feel like I mattered. At first he was my friend, but then he became much more. But love isnā€™t real. Not in my world.

When Ethan left to pursue professional hockey I had to make a clean break. I couldnā€™t wait for him to find someone better, couldnā€™t wait for him to break my heart. Itā€™s better to leave than be left. But now heā€™s back, and I can't run from him anymore.

Worseā€¦he won't let me.

Ethan: Annie Fraser owned me as a kid. She owns me still. When I got my first contract to play professional hockey I asked her to come with me, but she wouldnā€™t leave Rawdon, not while her grandmother was sick. I understood. Still, I wanted to stay together, do whatever I could to keep her.

But she wanted to run. I loved her enough to let her.

Now Iā€™m back in town and Iā€™m still pissed. I think I hate her. Iā€™m sure of it. Until I see herā€¦ and those old feelings come rushing back. I wonā€™t let her walk away again. I donā€™t care what it takes.

Found it mostly boring but lost complete respect when Annie gets slapped by her ex and her excuse for not reporting it was "i hurt him" by dumping him beforehand. Blow off.

I got really into it but wouldve liked to know how the brother and dad did after even in just a little detail. It started great, hit the top and just ended. Somehow, I wanted just a little more. But, overall, good story.

I don't feel like she wrapped up the ending well enough. But it was cute enough
