If you can get by the annoyance of 250 page books in a series that seems to want to keep soaking a little cash out of you every few months, then it's not a bad story to get into. Not to mention the inadequate editing, leaving plenty of misspellings and grammatical inaccuracies for your enjoyment. There seems to be the complete disregard for scope of time as well. Characters should be about ten years older for all that has taken place, and yet, it's only months that have passed. I do like the premise tho.

This author is milking this series as much as humanly possible. The story itself is not bad, but come on...9 books so far each with less than 300 pages. Some of the books have been double spaced so that it looks bigger than it actually is. This series should have been put into 3 books or less. Just goes to show that some authors are ultimately greedy.

A good, engaging story with characters you really come to care for, unfortunately let down by poor editing (spelling and grammar mistakes etc) and a strangely short timescale for all the events to happen in the books. Still nothing compared to Feist and Martin etc.
