My dad told me many stories about the early settlers and Indians near Winchester, when I was a child. Some of the people mentioned in this book were our forebears. Early VA was hazardous...too bad we stole it from the natives. Time frame covers 1730's onward. Amazing to hear of both peoples times and customs.
