About this ebook

All is fair in love and real estate, right?

Single mum Shasa Daniels is heartbroken when she discovers her landlord is selling her rental home to Mac McCarthy, a hotshot developer known for replacing old villas with luxury condos. Determined to stop him, Shasa gathers her friends to outbid him and build community housing instead.

Mac, the man in a thousand-dollar suit, isnā€™t as financially stable as he makes out. This deal promises to secure his future, until Shasa the eco-warrior stands in his way.

Each will do what it takes to succeed. As Shasa crashes Mac's improv group, she finds that spying on a guy this hot is a lot like playing with fire. Can her newly discovered love of acting, and their on-stage chemistry, bridge the gap between their two worlds?

From the author:

There is more heat in this story than in my previous books. Consider yourself warned! :D I'm working on a sequel, but this can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone book (no cliffhangers or loose ends, I promise!)

As a huge fan of romantic comedy, I was excited to read this story. The first book in a new series set in New Zealand, this book is well written and interesting enough to hold my attention for the entirety. Shasa is a single mom who's just found out her long-term boyfriend is leaving her and her landlord is selling the property she lives in. Her solution is to start a cohousing community on the site and purchase the property from the owner instead of letting the developer - enemy-turned-love-interest Mac, buy it from under her and leave her and her child homeless. The story flowed well and the characters were well-developed. I expected a bit more humor, but the characters were complex and sweet and worth getting to know. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 for solid writing, lighthearted fun, dynamic character development and a HEA. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

About the author

Enni Amanda Tuomisalo is a graphic designer moonlighting as an author, or maybe it's the other way around. Originally from Finland, she moved to New Zealand in 2006, for no particular reason, other than the Lord of the Rings movies, maybe. Her friends think she's hiding a secret past and is actually in a witness protection program. It could be because she spent eight years spent on the road with no permanent address. These days, she's firmly settled in, raising two cute, rambunctious boys while writing away and ignoring housework.
