About the author

Roger has lived in Widecombe Parish for the last twenty-one years after a career in software. During this time he has, along with his wife Ann, developed a keen interest in local history, and this led to the setting up of the Widecombe-in-the-Moor website and the digitisation project to digitise and catalogue the Widecombe Parish Chest and History Group archive and the creation of the online searchable catalogue with over 17,000 images.

He is also passionate about Dartmoor and the natural world generally and loves to walk the moor with dog Maisie and look out for items of interest to photograph. He also enjoys travel, cultural diversity, tolerance, archaeology, wildlife, theatre, art, sport, in fact pretty much everything. He has a first-class honours degree and an MA in Philosophical Studies.
