About the author
Mandy Hager is an author who made the LIANZA Young Adult shortlist 2015 with her title Singing Home the Whale. This title also won the Margaret Mahy Book of the Year Award, in the prestigious New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults. Singing Home the Whale is also the winner in the Awards' Young Adult Fiction category. This title was also chosen as one of four titles for the 2016 International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) Honour Book List.
