About this ebook

MERRY CHRISTMAS… Two years ago, Lady Clara Marshall led a fairytale life. She was the toast of the ton, beloved sister to an earl, leading charity patroness, and deeply in love. A bright future lay in her grasp, until a tragic phaeton accident ripped it all away. Now, she’s lost the use of her right leg and never ventures from home. She’s lost all happiness and the love of her life. When she’s forced to travel north for the holidays, a fierce snowstorm, a damaged bridge, and her meddling brother all conspire against her to bring her under the same roof with the one man she never wanted to see again.

MARRY ME? Michael Stanton, Duke of Wakefield, cannot believe his eyes when he sees Clara being carried into his country house to seek shelter from the storm. Two years ago, his heart nearly stopped when he watched the wreck, only for it to shatter completely when she broke off with him without explanation. Certain she blames him for her leg, he’s resigned to having lost her, until her brother asks for his help in showing her how to live again.

But the last thing Clara wants is to be trapped with Michael and all the ghosts of Christmases past. Will the duke be able to save not just Christmas, but also her life?

When fate dropped Lady Clara Marshall on his doorstep just before Yuletide, Michael Stanton, Duke of Wakefield, took full advantage of the Christmas miracle that has given him a second chance with the love of his life. The accident that left her able to use one leg led Clara to drop out of Society, stop her charity work, and break her engagement to Michael. She says she doesn’t want to be a burden. Poppycock says Michael, and he sets out to prove she is still the strong woman she was before the accident and is not a burden to him. It’s slow going at first, but he and his niece and nephews steadily draw her out of her shell. I love the beautiful descriptions of Christmas traditions and decorations. You are bound to be caught up with the children’s excitement and wonder. It is obvious that there is still great chemistry between Michael and Clara. She is completely surprised by the things he shows her she can still do, like ride a horse (you will love that part), help the children with their Christmas project, and handle a social function. When a near tragedy threatens to take Michael from her, she realizes she does not to lose him again. Simply wonderful story and characters and an awesome happily ever after. I loved it and happily recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I thought Clara and Michael's story was absolutely amazing. Rich feels, intense emotions and a bit of holiday charm are skillfully woven throughout this engaging and deeply moving romance. These two really had my heart aching. I found both characters very likable and I felt so much for them. This couple's journey is filled with sweetness, adversity and pain and for me, that just made it all the more powerful. This epic romance is heartfelt and beautiful. I am independently posting a impartial review.

December 1814, Coldstream, Northumberland The most perfect story to bring the heart joy and romance coming into the Holiday season. When all might seem lost, there is always a possible way to regain happiness again. Such is the tale of Lady Clara and Michael, Duke of Wakefield. A storytale love that seemed unbreakable until the worst happened and Clara was left without the use of her legs. She broke things off with Michael, hoping to never see him again. Then fate intervened (although I think it was more than that!) and she ended up stranded at his manor due to the weather. What would happen now? Anna never fails to grab the heart and not let go with her amazing writing and this is one of my favorites! Snuggle up and sit back and enjoy.
