About the author
Estelle Ohanian is an author, science engineer, adventurer, open-water and cold-water swimmer.
Originally from Bailly-Romainvilliers, France, and granddaughter of chocolatiers, she carries a multicultural heritage (Armenian, Vietnamese, Italian, and American) that fuels her commitment to dialogue between cultures.
Since June 2023, she has been traveling the world with her partner aboard Woody, a 1957 Swiss military FBW truck, as part of the FBW Project, at a maximum speed of 30 mph (50 km/h). This slow journey has included 14 humanitarian and eco-volunteer missions across more than 23 countries.
An accomplished athlete, especially in open-water swimming, she regularly takes on personal endurance challenges around the world. She has swum in the icy waters of Patagonia, including the Marble Caves (Capillas de Mármol) in Chile, a swim covered by the national Chilean press.
