About the author
John Heywood is an experienced professional local historian, writer and speaker living in West Yorkshire. With a passion for history stretching back over forty years his most recent well acclaimed book ‘Beside the Seaside’ told the story of Yorkshire’s East Coast holiday resorts. He is a regular contributor to several history and nostalgia magazines and has recently collaborated on a book and exhibition examining the home-front in Wakefield during the Great War. Away from writing John loves being by the coast and walking.
