not so much the story, though i enjoyed it, as the insights. I have in my lifetime seen great changes in idealogy, values, hopes and freedoms that we once took for granted and are slowly losing because we allow others to manipulate us and pass legislation that we don't appose. I am not a conspiacy theorist but this is what happens when one does not take a stand and choose ones pain. A thought provoking read. I am gladdened that you are back on your feet as I too had an incident with a large insurance company wriggling out of payment. It seems so easy for them when the little man cannot afford the fight. Best wishes with your future endevours.

I've just finished the trilogy of Anti-Life & found it far more moving & well rounded than I initially thought it would be. I'd not expected it to throw up so many questions around the nature of humanity & what constitutes it. Alvarez is a troubled man, not the slick hero type by any means. I finished the first book unsure whether I liked him or not. I ended the third KNOWING I did!

I love the title! An action packed start, with a rather slow book 2, and simmering ending. Overall, great writing, and characters. I do hope that the author does revisit the series. It does have great potential. The main character has depth and life, while the NPCs (the supporting roles) don't seem to have much background. I did like the fact the ending was well tied up while leaving enough open for a continuation of the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
