this is a gripping story from beginning to end. kids will be begging their parents to let them stay up and finish the chapter. one of my favorite series by far. if you like the maze runner, harry potter, and Percy Jackson combined in one, this is definiately a must read.

Just finished reading and have already bought the 3rd book. Can't wait to start, this one made me so hungry reading it haha. This is a book series that has kept me reading word after word. Great work Michael Grant!

This book had so much more action then the first. I loved how the characters evolved even more and had more interaction. U could really feel the hunger from each one of them and the desperate need to survive.

About the author

Michael Grant, author of the Gone series, the Messenger of Fear series, the Magnificent Twelve series, and the Front Lines trilogy, has spent much of his life on the move. Raised in a military family, he attended ten schools in five states, as well as three schools in France. Even as an adult he kept moving, and in fact he became a writer in part because it was one of the few jobs that wouldn’t tie him down.
