The author didn't take the easy way out with this one. Many cheaply humanize their villains as the heroes of their own story, when oh! A twist! How far the mighty hath fallen! No, not Levana. Meyer writes Levana as a spore filled, rotted peach, bursting with wrongness and decay. The final fruit of a twisted tree at the center of a once-splendid garden that just happened to have been watered by the blood of innocents. Tl;dr, no wonder Levana's such a thunder-[pick your profanity].

I LOVE this book. Much darker compared to the other three books (expected, given it's about Levana's past), but profoundly deep. I never knew unrequited love could make such a good story. This book really fills in the shadows that will make the other books fuller and richer. Didn't think I would like this book because I much prefer happy love stories, but it is critical to understanding the world of The Lunar Chronicles and I couldn't put it down.

The book was interesting but for some reason I could not find the pic of the castle as promised or maybe the online version does not have it , if that is the case then they should not have promised that in the description
