The scholarship is great but this Google edition has done Dr. Friedman no favors. Missing are all the colors to separate various sources. More glaring is that the footnotes are completely missing. Or maybe they are hidden so well that I couldn't find them. Either way, it was a big disappointment and I am going to ask for a refund on the e-book.

Professor Friedman's excellent book suffers when one buys the electronic version. The color codes which identify the sources of the Pentateuch in the print editions are completely missing here. The in-line identity of the sources is the whole purpose of the book. The notes are here, however. Still a good read.

This e-book is missing the only thing that makes this book relevant: the color coding that distinguishes the purported sources that make up the biblical accounts.
