loved the book it did make me cry tho, I was 11 when I first read it but I had a friend that was 10 when she read it so it depends on the type of books you like. If you don't like deth or sadness I would not recommend this book..

This book is amazing specially for kids 13+ . It gives you such a nice message about friendship. It will also teach you that no matter what, lonely or not, the person that you truly call a friend will always be in your heart.I like how the author explains each character and its problems. What I didn't like about the book is that sometimes it would give unnecessary scenes and it could get somewhat boring but other than that I loved the book.

I watched the movie first as a young girl, and cried when Leslie died for me it felt as if time froze because it wasn't as if it was a true thing but it may happen to anybody at anytime. And what hurt was knowing jesse lost a part of him in Leslie death. But reading the book made more sense and loved it even more and to know the truth story behind this book. It made me be grateful for the writter because she was strong when she wrote part of her life into a book where the whole world will know & keep readin
