About this ebook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The Carolina Cold Fury’s hot new star shows his bad-boy teammates that even nice guys can score big in this steamy hockey romance from the bestselling author of Ryker and Hawke (“Sexy, emotional, and fantastic!” —Sandi Lynn).

The ice is a cold mistress. As the league’s most eligible goalie, Max Fournier has access to his fair share of willing puck bunnies, but right now he’s more interested in bringing home another championship than a one-night stand. A romantic at heart, Max believes in love; he’s just not great at relationships. So when he finally meets a nice girl who’s not blinded by his celebrity, he’s feeling the heat—and the pressure to save her from herself.

Between working two jobs and raising her sister’s kids, Julianne Bradley doesn’t have time for sports—or men. All she knows about Max is that he’s the sexiest customer to ever grace her gas-station counter. And he sees past her tired eyes and makes Jules yearn for things she can’t have: a glamorous fling, a passionate lover, and the time to enjoy both. Max makes her feel like Cinderella, even though Jules has enough baggage to crush a glass slipper. Luckily, he’s no prince—only a fierce competitor determined to win her heart.

I love this series and I really didn't think it could get any better then along comes Max. We met Max Fournier back in Rykers story he was injured then but now Ryker has retired and Max is ready to take his place as starting goalie. I have a new Cold Fury boyfriend Max is everything you could ever want from a book boyfriend. Jules is a carer of her sisters 3 young children and is doing what ever is needed to make ends meet and when she meets Max in the convince store where she works in the evening she has no idea who he is and he loves it, he is so used to puck bunnies throwing themselves at him he finds Jules intriguing. Can he help the head strong Jules even if she doesn't want his help. ...... Max is hot and sweet all rolled into one and when he stepped up to help the children my heart just melted, he wants Jules but he also understands why Jules has to put the children first and he excepts that if Jules is in his life then so are the kids what a perfect man. This series just keeps getting better and better and I can't wait to see what Sawyer Bennett has in store for us with Roman's story because it's going to be hard to top Max Fournier. Fantastic read that had me hooked from the first chapter and I will never forget these four words " SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP" I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for an honest review

*Review copy provided by NetGalley and the Publisher for an honest review* I've loved the entire Cold Fury series to this point, but Sawyer Bennett took it to another level with Max. This book is by far my favorite in the series so far. Max Fournier is the new starting goalie for the Carolina Cold Fury. He's worked his way back from injury to earn the starting job and his focus is going to be solely on making sure he keeps that position. Well, you know what they say about best laid plans... Hockey was going to be his sole focus until one night he stops by a convenience store to pick up a snack his trainer won't be too happy about if she finds out about it and ends up finding what could be the biggest distraction of both his career and his life. Julianne "Jules" Bradley is doing her very best to keep all the balls she's juggling in the air. She recently took sole custody of her young niece and two nephews following the passing of her sister. She's working two jobs, her day job at the nursing home and her second job at a convenience store just to make ends meet. She's doing a pretty good job, but she's losing herself in the process as every ounce of who she is is going into making sure the kids are cared for best they can be. When Max happens upon Jules in a bit of a difficult situation with some customers at the store, he helps her out and realizes that she's intriguing to him - she's the kind of woman he didn't know he's been looking for. Intriguing to him in the way that yes, he wants to get her into bed, but he also wants to know her. When the extent of what Jules is dealing with is revealed, Max only wants to help her that much more. As the sparks fly between the two of them, will Max's celebrity come between them or will it be Jules' need to be independent that spells trouble for the couple? And, will there be outside forces that end up causing more trouble than what each of them are dealing with independently? What I loved about this book is how realistic is was. Everything that happened could easily happen in real life and for me it made me connect with the characters quickly and that much more. The insecurities that Jules has are those that I think anyone in her situation would face and I think Sawyer Bennett did a fantastic job of conveying those insecurities so you could really understand where she was coming from. And, Max. Oh my...all I can say about him is I wish I could find a guy as sweet, sexy and all around awesome as he was. Kudos Sawyer Bennett - this one is a keeper for sure!

Michelle Monroe rated a book really liked it 3 months ago Max by Sawyer Bennett Max (Cold Fury Hockey, #6) by Sawyer Bennett (Goodreads Author) Read Read in September 2016 *Received a free copy via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review* This is the first book I've read in Miss Bennetts Cold Fury series so I wasn't sure what to expect. I don't know the character, or their back stories but I had no problems following the story, so I am assuming you don't need to read the others before reading this one. I'm not sure how I felt about Max in the beginning, as all he kept saying was how beautiful Jules was, that seems a bit vain to me. But, he definitely redeemed himself in the story. And I guess, you have to be physically attracted to someone at first, makes you want to get to know them and all that. Max turned out Being this super sweet and sexy guy. He is the starting Goalie for Cold Fury and of course had tons of fans and women just throwing themselves at him. When he meets Jules in a confidence store, she doesn't even know who he is. And Max decided he liked that, and wanted to get to know her more. He kept showing up just to spend time with her. Jules is a great character. So sweet and very caring person. She has three small children, working two jobs and isn't sure if she has time for Max no matter how gorgeous she thinks he is. When she finds out exactly who Max is, his fame and all the attention he gets from it seems to be more than Jules can handle. She isn't sure if her complicated life can handle it, Andy she wonders why he would want to attach himself to someone who has so much baggage carrying around when he can have anyone he wants. The thing is, he wants Jules. And he makes sure she knows it too! Nicely written, and characters that have depth, this was a pretty good read. I liked their interactions, the banter between all the characters and let's not forget the hot and steamy parts! *wink*
