About this ebook

In this haunted desert, nothing holds more magic than words.

As the storyteller for her adoptive kingdom, seventeen-year-old Nima weaves tales for their entertainment while yearning to learn the truth of her past.

When the king from a nearby city demands that Nima be brought to him, she has no choice but to go with his warriors. But as Nima grows closer to one of the king’s sons, danger from palace secrets and memory-stealing spirits threaten her at every turn. She must use her stories to discover—and create—the truths of her past and the shared history of the kingdoms in order to preserve her freedom, save her people from the windhaunts, and reunite the land.

I finished the full version of this book and it was more engrossing than I could have ever imagined it could be. It is a beautiful book of tales within tales. Nima Storyteller weaves tales that tells the stories with some truth and some fantasy while all the time telling another true story as she knows it. The link between Sand and Stars was not what I started out believing it would be but the further into the story I went, the more I understood and the more I wanted to know. The characters in the book were very believeable and it wasn't hard to pick sides of who to cheer for and who you wanted to see go. Juliet has such an increadable way of weaving her books into your thoughts and where the story will take you next. I am excited to know there is going to be a novella to this book, much like the last series of The Scorpion's Lullaby and The Scorpion's Daughter. I loved Tales of Sand and Stars as much as The Scorpion's Lullaby but for very different reason. It is a terrific read that you should really give it a go!

About the author

Juliet grew up in northern California, where she spent her free time staring at spooky lakes and making up stories about the old buildings surrounding them. Years later, she still lives in California and she still makes up spooky stories…about lakes and the old buildings surrounding them. Like April in April’s Ghosts, she’s terrified of spiders and she’s obsessed with Hamilton. Like Lissa in June's Blood, she plays the piano...but not very well.
