About the author

D.G. Mayes is the author of the Write Your First Story series of books. He wrote the books to help beginning writers bring their ideas to life, and help experienced authors to expand their knowledge of fiction-craft. Mayes had an early life filled with shelves full of coverless books and comics; books salvaged by his father who labored as a sanitation worker. Mayes dove deep into the unloved literature that others had abandoned. His passion of story has followed him throughout his life. He has been a production worker, security officer, delivery driver, and farmhand, as well as a chronicler, archivist, video editor, and a consultant in the film and digital media management industry.
