This book has such crazy writing that is not organized in any specific fashion. You never know anyone's real age at any one point in the book. The author just came up with a bunch of ideas the characters have that make no sense. Don't have kids read it either, because apparently nine year olds think like adults when it comes to sex. The dialouge was so often just a whole crap load of quotation marks with no way to distinguish who is talking. By the end of the paragraph you are just confused. Also, it would help to check each chapter name before reading it so you don't go into it thinking you are reading Oskar's point of view rather than his grandmother's. Have fun with this one.

On a Hazy afternoon and truck gets stole...and nobody likes getting tricked in a Trap by somebody they think cares and loves them..And especially their kid....When you trust and voluntarily let someone care for your kid ..and they abduct her mykid you better get an American guy like ken to step in..Especially when you got a mother like Jeanette it makes things real hard...that's what dfcs is for to protect from harm..its OK to stick up for pretty girls. Ginger needed childcare assistance. they failed.

This is a beautifully written book. It is inventive in both its content and format. As an avid reader and humanist, it was so interesting to look into the mind of someone who sees the world in its googolplex of facets; someone who got to the core of incredibly difficult subjects including 9/11, the bombing of Dresden, and Hiroshima, from the eyes of a child, a mother, a Holocaust survivor. I could feel my mind open as I read it. I felt hope at its end. Thank you to Mr. Foer.
