About this ebook

Protecting a woman should be easy… except this one has more secrets than the marines I served with.

How do you protect a woman who can’t tell you the damn truth?

My tenant ran into my room in the middle of the night.

As a marine vet, I’m hardwired to protect, but Felicity makes keeping her safe a gargantuan task.

She breaks every rule I give her.

Refuses to answer questions.

Tempts me with every glance…

And reacts one stormy night when I kiss her.

I need to be focused on protecting her and everyone else I love, or I’ll lose everything. But between her secrets, her evasive attitude, and her unwillingness to do as she’s told, I’m at an impasse.

I don’t trust her, but I’d lay down my life to keep her safe.

This steamy, small-town mystery will keep you up all night reading and promising yourself just one more chapter!

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Felicity and Zane and does not let go. The story keeps us turning the pages with instant attraction, denial, suspense, danger and love. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Lexi Hart is a lunatic from New Zealand masquerading as an author.

She’s interviewed detectives, spent a night in a police station and been for a ride-along in the back of a police car, all in the name of research.

If you can track her down, you’ll most likely find her watching British comedies, quizzes, a combination of the two, or reading mysteries.

When her slightly malfunctioning body allows, she writes romance stories filled with twists, humor, and a whole lot of steam.

Lexi's way too impulsive to use social media, but she loves to share things that make her laugh, so if you want to stay in touch be sure to subscribe to her VIP mailing list.
