I hate to be the first genuine negative review - maybe this is just a result of not quite being the target audience. But I did not enjoy this book, though I read it to the end. Spoilers ahead. Honestly, while this story is not the worst New Adult, Contemporary "Romance" I've read so far - it does have many of the genres negative hallmarks in my experience: weak romance, casual misogyny, an "assertive" male character that just reads to me as a selfish, inconsiderate prick, etc. One of the things that makes this one stand out is all the unnecessary rape, sexual assault and murder. The first major misstep is the first chapter, which is in the point of view of a character who is not only not the main character but is not a significant character at all. Jessica, I believe, is nothing more than a prop - she exists in the story simply to be raped and it's absolutely bizarre that the story starts in her POV. She doesn't even appear in the story after this first chapter. She just gets raped, is mentioned two or three more times and then is basically forgotten by the story. This is the first of many instances of (sexual) violence against women - though not explicit - that is just treated largely as a plot-point and not with any real sense of gravity.. The main character is basically sexually assaulted and that honestly seems largely unnecessary in the overall story and, again, seems largely forgotten by the end. One of the major female characters is murdered (and unnecessarily, in my opinion, raped) and the story has a brief funeral scene before all the major characters seem to forget that someone has just died. Her death doesn't feel sad - though it is sudden - again, it's just another plot point with no real gravity. The story, in essence, treats the women the same way the biker characters due - as property of the male characters basically. But hey, not everyone reading the story really cares about any of that. It's all fictional and fantasy and some people like that concept. Aside from that, unlike, the other reviews, I found the sex scenes to be really dry. There's no real imagery, few description of what the characters are feeling - the sex scenes are too mechanical to really engage me. And while the actual romance isn't the weakest one I've ever read, it does suffer from the ~magic connection~ lazy writing I see a lot in the story and it feels like the characters are just suddenly in love because the story demands. There's no real attempt to really develop a romance - they just are in love right before they actually have sex. Adriana's confrontation of her mother - where she suggests she's letting her mother rule her life - is not really set up well. It would've worked better if there were more instances of her mother making decisions for her, aside from her mother opposing her relationship with Trevor. For example, the things that Adriana suggests that her mother does her for her (her laundry and what not) could've actually been /in/ the story, rather than exposited in this one scene. And I'm just going to comment on the cliffhanger since it seemed to really engage some of the other reviewers - I don't find it much of a hook. Personally, I think it's a really weak cliffhanger. and feels really cheap. Brandy being pregnant should not signal the end of her relationship with Trevor, given that Brandy cheated on him and he's obviously still upset about that. But what do I know? I don't find anything about bikers inherently attractive so clearly this book wasn't made for me in the first place.

The book was good to start with but there was no need for putting rape in this book.to much rape and the couple's was to young in this book for me.book would of been more interesting if the couple's was older in this book plus no rape.to much rape in this world without reading it in a book.the book was good apart for them 2 things.I only got to page 25 then I deleted the book

CLIFFHANGER. I gave it one star because of that fact. Good story well told but being forced into buying the second book to find out the end or who knows? This one story might be spread over several books.
