Ratings and reviews

I really liked how the book included both the male and female point of view. It had many of the same elements as Taking Chances, but I was not irritated with the From Ashes story until the last few chapters. I just have very little patience for (spoiler alert) people cheating and yet continually professing their love for the one they are cheating on. Both of the books involve cheating of different degrees, and both books started losing my attention and quickly went down hill after both scenarios.

The book has it's good moments, but I was mainly annoyed by Cassidy's helplessness. I get she had a bad past but I wished her character had taken on a more stronger personality after meeting her man. Also annoying was the constant reminders of how "hot" she was, we get it & the endings to both books (Taking Chances) seem to drag on for quite a while, but overall story line was good for the price. -RK

I loved Taking chances, going from that great lively heart moving book to reading this is quite disappointing. The author writes this strong independent girl who never needs saving and for the most part she is fine with doing so, but as the story goes she turns out to not only need saving every other page, but also is a very weak character indeed. I didn't understand why she was portraying her as something she clearly wasn't. Period.
