About this ebook

Little Girl, Big Imagination” is a Children's Photo Book Miniseries, following Gabi's (main character) everyday life and activities and taking the reader through the adventures that the little girl is living in her own head, courtesy of her big imagination.

The books are geared towards the pre-school and early elementary school children 4 - 8 years old, meant to support their reading and help develop a healthy imagination. The text is easy to read, using simple, age-appropriate vocabulary, in a repetitive pattern, to help the young readers better absorb the content and follow through with their reading. The real-life pictures as well as the accompanying short films released on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@littlegirlbigimagination help with the visualization of the story and can be a useful tool for parents and teachers to help the young readers interpret, analyze and summarize the text.

About the author

Andrea is a Canadian born artist with a background in acting, modelling and dance. A French Immersion student, Andrea started her artistic journey at the young age of three with dance classes, adding acting and modelling to her endeavors at the age of 10.

After years of dance training and performances, Andrea started producing her first mini web series of short dance films " Little Girl, Big Imagination" (https://www.andreamatei.com/producer)  at only 12 years old. The series features little sister Gabriela Matei as the main character and was created as an artistic outlet, with the objective to give fellow dancers an opportunity to perform on camera and to encourage little kids to pursue the art of movement.

At the age of 13, Andrea decided to turn this project into a Children's Book Series, to help cultivate the love of reading in young children by building on the short dance films and using the same real-life pictures (taken by Photographer Ricardo Araújo www.tophotography.ca) of the same real-life characters in real life situations, making the stories more relatable to real kids.

Ricardo Araújo is a published Toronto based Photographer of Portuguese descent, adding a touch of cultural richness to his work. He specializes in lifestyle, contemporary and fine art photography, including

black and white photography. Ricardo is an active part of the Toronto Photographers Community where you can see some of his work. More about Ricardo can be found on his website www.tophotography.ca

Aside from being a caring and supporting mother and wife, Daniela is an experienced Project Manager in the corporate world, a published bilingual poetry author and a freelance Production Manager focusing on short dance and film projects. Daniela is also a recognized Master of Ceremonies in her community.
