About this ebook

The first time it happened, it seemed like an impossible miracle. Bills were piling up, adding up to more money than I could ever make. Mom's hospital bills. My baby brother's tuition. My tuition. Rent. Electricity. All of it on my shoulders. And I had just lost my job. There was no hope, no money in my account, no work to be found. And then, just when I thought all hope was lost, I found an envelope in the mail. No return address. My name on the front, my address. Inside was a check, made out to me, in the amount of ten thousand dollars. Enough to pay the bills and leave me some left over to live on until I found a job. Enough to let me focus on classes. There was no name on the check, just "VRI Inc.," and a post office box address for somewhere in the city. No hint of identity or reason for the check or anything. No mention of repayment, interest, nothing... except a single word, on the notes line: "You." Just those three letters.

If you receive a mysterious check, for enough money to erase all your worries, would you cash it?

I did.

The next month, I received another check, again from VRI Incorporated. It too contained a single word: "belong."

A third check, the next month. This time, two words. Four letters. "To me."

The checks kept coming. The notes stopped. Ten thousand dollars, every month. A girl gets used to that, real quick. It let me pay the bills without going into debt. Let me keep my baby brother in school and Mom's hospice care paid for. How do you turn down what seems like free money, when you're desperate? You don't. I didn't.

And then, after a year, there was a knock on my door. A sleek black limousine sat on the curb in front of my house. A driver stood in front of me, and he spoke six words: "It's time to pay your debt."

Would you have gotten in?

I did.

It turns out $120,000 doesn't come free.

The book was great.,so detailed. the sex scenes are so unimaginably amazing. To much to read, my mind is going wild pituring out every little detail, i actually pictured out "Noah Flyn" in kissing booth as Valentine Roth. The story line is great.

Holy book hangover! I barely have enough energy left to write this review. Alpha by Jasinda Wilder sucked it all out of me. I am fairly new to reading Wilder, so I didn’t really know what to expect. First person point of view is also new to me but I barely even noticed it since the story was so enthralling and moved along at a very quick pace. It was fantastic. Alpha is unlike any other book I have read. When I first started reading, I expected to be mad at Roth for the way he was treating Kyrie but I never ended up feeling that way. What I first thought was dominance and an unhealthy obsession turned out to be the sweet and romantic. Alluring. Captivating. I was hooked and there was no going back for me. Just like Kyrie. Wilder does a fantastic job developing her characters, giving us bits and pieces of them throughout the story at just the right time. She allows the readers to live in Kyrie’s shoes to be swept off our feet by a handsome, rich, incredible man. And lets not forget taken to the height of ecstasy, left breathless and wanting more by an extremely skilled lover. The love scenes in Alpha are phenomenal. I am not exactly sure how to describe it because it isn’t like they are out of the ordinary when it comes to the type of love acts but the way they are described and the way the two characters enjoy one another is so extremely intense. Kyrie was cautiously open and I found the scenes to also be inspiring. I know, that might sound weird, but I was inspired. The twist near the end of the book was a surprise. I was so invested in the story by that time that I hated it. Not in a way that it was poorly written or anything but I hated what happened and that we had to experience it with Kyrie. It broke my heart. Alpha is an experience. It’s more than just a book. You will feel different while reading it. It will stay with you after you finish it. If you like insanely hot stories with great characters that will pull you in to experience the story with them, I highly recommend you give Alpha a try. You will be so glad you did.

I really wanted to like this book but it was just... meh. I got about 40% through it before I just started skimming to get to the end. Kyrie was actually a good character in the beginning but her development only went down. Roth was insufferable. I was really hoping this would turn into a revenge story when [spoiler] was revealed, but alas, it did not. This felt more like bad fanfiction than anything else.
