To question if Jesus really was born in Bethlehem is actually quite common, because it is suspected that the early church wanted him to be born in the same town as the legendary King David. On the other hand, it is quite unusual to doubt that Jesus died in Jerusalem, so putting his death to Rome on the Capitoline Hill (named after the skull of Tolus) is almost pathetic… but if art can be defined as something that makes something pathetic less pathetic, then maybe that’s exactly what this book does.
