The Alkahest -- a copper gauntlet capable of separating certain magicians from their magic -- has been stolen. And in their search to discover the culprit, Call and his friends Aaron and Tamara awaken the attention of some very dangerous foes -- and get closer to an even more dangerous truth. As the mysteries of the Magisterium deepen and widen, bestselling authors Holly Black and Cassandra Clare take readers on an extraordinary journey through one boy's conflict -- and a whole world's fate.

This book was enjoyable, exactly what you would expect from a book for young teens. If you liked the first one you'll like this one. It was paced very nicely for a short book(nothing felt rushed or too slow).Really see this series being able to grow with its readers. All in all a fun read any kid would enjoy.

I enjoyed this book very much, it was kinda boring at first but the pace sped up and then all the action happened. It was much too short and I finished it in a day. I liked the first better but this was still amazing. Cant wait to read the third when it comes out

This was a pleasure to read. My only complaint is that it was over much too quickly after a long wait (long for me, but no Robert Jordan - type wait). I hope the next book cones out fast!!! I thought sure that Call was a decoy, and Aaron embodies Constantine's soul. We shall see!
