About this ebook

ย Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.ย
The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.ย

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesnโ€™t know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-year-old vampire.

Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the arranged set up to make his overbearing grandmother happy. In thirty days, whatever bridezilla shows up at his door will be escorted right back out. His past means love is no longer an option. Not if the womanโ€™s going to have a future. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.

Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets...

I think this book just could have been so much better. The main male and female characters were interesting and plot was promising at first. I highly disliked that this book was written or edited to be PG-13. The book was predictable, the enemies laughable and I felt the relationship between the two main characters was rushed at points. I believe the story also focuses too much on an emotional conflict that when resolved leaves the ending feeling cheap and simplistic.

Even without explicit love scenes (I am a bit disappointed) the story felt good and complete. I adored Delaney. She had fire, but was never unnecessarily cruel or vicious with it. What is more important is that she listened to explanations. She was one of the most admirable heroines I've read in a very long time. I'll be seeking out more of this author's works to enjoy. Though I will also be hoping for something a bit more adult to read somewhere along the line.

A woman on the run after witnessing a murder happens upon the opportunity to impersonate a woman who's been selected by a matchmaking service to be a 'mail order bride'. Only, it turns out the prospective groom is actually a vampire, genuinely one of the 'undead'. All sorts of adventures and oddness ensues. --- This is a fun read, with humor, romance, danger, and paranormal surprises. I enjoyed it immensely.
