Of all the New 52 books out, this was one of the ones I was looking the most forward to. After finishing it, I'm still trying to understand what all the 'buzz' is about. Azzarello had some great ideas and premises to the Wonder Woman mythos, but it just was disjointed in delivery which is unusual for him. I would recommend getting it; maybe I just missed something. I've purchased the rest of the series to see how it plays out, so it wasn't bad nor a waste of money.

Good characterization for Diana herself and great art. However, made Wonder Woman all about the men (having her be Zeus' child was a joke a previous writer made about how badly a movie could screw up the character!) and turned the Amazons into bloodthirsty manhaters, a caricature of hypocritical feminists. The plot is everything I NEVER wanted in a Wonder Woman story.

As in getting back into comics, I always wondered what wonder woman's back history was like. Being a fan of the Greek mythology, I enjoyed the authors take on the Amazons and Dianas Little back story. Would of made the five star, if only they had made some characters introductions nd role abit more clear. Maybe in volume.2
