About this ebook

Two wounds. One corpse. Zero clarity.

I was still finding my feet in Edinburgh when Justice dragged me into a murder at the Calamity Theatre. I’m Detective Logan Fraser, and this gothic church-turned-playhouse has more drama offstage than on. The victim? Shane Moore, the theatre’s lead actor—found hours after the show ended, knife in his chest, posed like a scene from a play. The catch? Every psychic Vision shows him dying a different way—stabbed or shot. The problem? No one can tell what’s real and what’s just a memory of a performance.

Justice brought me in because their usual tricks failed. But they’ve made it clear I’m only here because they’re desperate. The deeper I dig, the more tangled it gets—old grudges, buried secrets, and a theatre full of suspects with something to hide.

Edinburgh’s colder than London, the shadows run deeper, and while my daughter’s trying to settle into our new life, I’m doing everything I can to keep her well clear of the mess I’ve just stepped into.

I came to Edinburgh chasing a new beginning. Now I’m walking the blurred line between truth and justice—and one wrong step could cost everything.

Fans of Rivers of London and The Dresden Files will love this supernatural mystery where every Vision tells a different lie

About the author

Come for the chaos. Stay for the heart.

While cats stalk phoenixes across the breakfast table and werewolves dig up the garden to torment her chihuahua, stories are already forming—layered with myth, emotion, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

Jemma Weir is a Scottish indie author of paranormal romance and urban fantasy with bite: magic is messy, love is fierce, and family means everything. Her characters are flawed, loyal, and unforgettable—shaped by legend and stitched with sass and suspense while the Scottish wind howls outside her writing room.

Her series include Highland Rift Pack, where protective shifters, tangled loyalties, and emotional stakes collide, and Death and Visions, a gritty urban fantasy detective saga set in Edinburgh, where solving murders means confronting psychic visions, buried trauma, and ghosts that won’t let go. Her stories explore loyalty, longing, and the kind of love that claws its way through darkness. Expect Scottish mist, fractured memories, and truths that refuse to stay buried.

Fantasy was her first love. Now she writes the kind of stories she always wanted to read—gritty, heartfelt, and just a little unhinged.
