About this ebook

Magic. Murder. Mayhem.

Welcome to the deadliest tournament in Velidred.

Thrust into a brutal, magic-laced tournament after a tragic loss, Alpherge must fight through fire, fury, and sabotage. With Riley at his side, he’ll face a gauntlet of deadly trials, and an enemy who will do anything to see him fail. The glory is real. So is the danger.

An Action-Packed Fantasy of Magic and Glory

When tragedy strikes days before the legendary Champions of Velidred Tournament, young wizard Riley demands her cousin’s spot be filled by the one person she trusts, Alpherge the Mighty. Ill-prepared and out of his depth, Alpherge finds himself thrust into a brutal 24-hour gauntlet of combat, spellcraft, and sheer endurance. The challenges span dangerous stadium mazes, treacherous waters, and deadly magical trials, culminating in the most thrilling chariot race since Ben Hur.

But as the tournament unfolds, it becomes clear: someone wants Alpherge's team to lose—and they're willing to kill to make it happen.

Packed with magic, murder, and momentum, Champions of Velidred is a fast-paced fantasy adventure for fans of high stakes, fierce friendships, and unforgettable showdowns.

About the author

Kenneth Brown has been writing since 2004, though he didn't publish his first novel until 2018. He writes Young-Adult Action Adventure Fantasy novels that he likens to Harry Potter meets Treasure Island, as he tries to add a strong action-adventure element to each novel.

He first became interested in fantasy novels when he was in high school reading the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. He grew up reading Heinlein, Asimov, Clarke, Grafton, Cussler, Anne McCaffrey, and Robert Jordan.

When Kenneth isn't writing, you might find him hiking the trails in one of America's National Parks. His favorite National Park is whichever park he is in at the moment. He has walked across Spain doing the French Way of the Camino de Santiago starting from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France. Walking in nature helps ground him for the novels he writes.
