I was never much a fan of Captain America books until I read Ed Brubaker. This book, like his entire run is the gold standard that I hold all other Captain America stories up to. The fact that Marvel movies choose his run to tell any non origin stories is no surprise. There really is no other well to draw from.

This volume has good writing and it gets really good forwards the end, but there is just something missing to make this a great story for me. It kind of feels like Batman HUSH, but without the star stuffed cast and cameos.

I was really disappointed. Story was below average. Slow paced. Fake drama. And was about as anticlimactic as they come. Art style was dark and dreary, and I don't mean that as I compliment... Do yourself a favor and skip this read.
