About this ebook

Before E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey and Sylvia Day's Bared to You, there was Anne Rice’s New York Times best seller The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty.

In the traditional folktale of "Sleeping Beauty," the spell cast upon the lovely young princess and everyone in her castle can only be broken by the kiss of a Prince. It is an ancient story, one that originally emerged from and still deeply disturbs the mind's unconscious. In the first book of the trilogy, Anne Rice (author of Beauty's Kingdom), writing as A.N. Roquelaure, retells the Beauty story and probes the unspoken implications of this lush, suggestive tale by exploring its undeniable connection to sexual desire. Here the Prince awakens Beauty, not with a kiss, but with sexual initiation. His reward for ending the hundred years of enchantment is Beauty's complete and total enslavement to him . . . as Anne Rice explores the world of erotic yearning and fantasy in a classic that becomes, with her skillful pen, a compelling experience. Readers of Fifty Shades of Grey will indulge in Rice’s deft storytelling and imaginative eroticism, a sure-to-be classic for years to come.
Praise for The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty:

"Articulate, baroque, and fashionably pornographic." —Playboy
"Something very special . . . at once so light and yet so haunting." —The Advocate

I wanted a good book to read since I finished Fifty Shade of Grey. This book is NOT similar to FSOG. It's an insult to compare the 2 books. I like BDSM & I know it's different for all people but this book is about disgracing, humiliation, rape, severe beating, & horrible pain for sex slaves. NO PLEASURE at all. It isn't the book for me. I forced myself to finish reading because I paid for it. I will NOT be reading the trilogy."Bare to You" by Silvia Day - Crossfire Series is a good book to check out

Worst book I have ever read. I see nothing sensual in this book at all. It contains nothing but cruelty andd degrading. It almost makes a mockery of literature. I'm by no means an expert in erotica nor in porn but I'm sure even in those genres you can find something enjoyable. If, however you enjoy reading in depth about raping, degrading, slaves and loss of all morality, by all means read on. Not worth it. ANNE Rice should burn this and apologize deeply.

I purchased this book, and was determined to finish it, however it was one of the worst books I have ever read! The only character you get any backstory on is Prince Alexi, and that is at the end of the book. Very unrealistic, cruel and not at all sensual. I will not waste my money on the other 2 books!! No wonder Anne Rice didn't want to put her real name on these books!
