If you aren't between the ages of 12 and 17 then don't bother buying these books, on the other hand if you enjoyed reading Harry Potter or Twilight by all means buy these books. All three books are a 'teeth pulling' excruciating. I read them because my niece was so excited about buying them... so I indulged her. It's another horrid teen love triangle filled with the Twilight brutality and violence. Not much imagination was put into these books because they resemble Twilight and Potter sooo much. Not going to beat a dead horse , trust all the one and two star reviews.

I only purchased this set because it was on sale for $5; cheap enough that I wouldn't regret spending money if I didn't enjoy it. And boy was I glad I didn't spend more than $5. I had to stop reading by Chapter 5 where the big "cliffhanger" is the two main characters holding hands and the girl kissing him on the cheek (where he had a bruise! OMG!). It became clear at that point that my 27 year old mind couldn't stomach anymore. The prose is OKAY (not great) and the language and descriptions are inconsistent

Once again, hype wins. A pleasant enough story that keeps moving along at a good pace but, the 'world' Collins has created is filled with holes and inconsistencies. Naturally, this impacts the degree to which you can enjoy a story. Plenty of similar books in the genre tell a far more believable story and make sense while doing it. At the very least hopefully the hype will turn some people onto what can be a great niche in science fiction.
