About this ebook

ONE OF TIME MAGAZINE’S 100 BEST YA BOOKS OF ALL TIME  •  NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

A modern-day classic from Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli, this beloved celebration of individuality  is now an original movie on Disney+!

And don't miss the author's highly anticipated new novel, Dead Wednesday!
Stargirl. From the day she arrives at quiet Mica High in a burst of color and sound, the hallways hum with the murmur of “Stargirl, Stargirl.” She captures Leo Borlock’ s heart with just one smile. She sparks a school-spirit revolution with just one cheer. The students of Mica High are enchanted. At first.

Then they turn on her. Stargirl is suddenly shunned for everything that makes her different, and Leo, panicked and desperate with love, urges her to become the very thing that can destroy her: normal. In this celebration of nonconformity, Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli weaves a tense, emotional tale about the perils of popularity and the thrill and inspiration of first love.

Don’t miss the sequel, Love, Stargirl, as well as The Warden’s Daughter, a novel about another girl who can't help but stand out.

“Spinelli is a poet of the prepubescent. . . . No writer guides his young characters, and his readers, past these pitfalls and challenges and toward their futures with more compassion.” —The New York Times

Hello everyone Adam here from Chatterbooks on Novel Island. Today we are going to be talking about the novel Stargirl and my opinion on it. While reading this book I was very touched by the uniqueness of Stargirl. She didn't care of what others thought about her, even if some people hated her, made fun of her, and excluded her from the majority of the school. Just because she wasn't like the others meant she was supposed to be hated. I can relate to Stargirl because sometimes, I feel like being different. However, I don't always take the chance, worrying about what others might think. Stargirl is a very entertaining and though provoking book that taught me to embrace my unique talents and abilities and to not be afraid of what others think of you. - Adam from Chatterbooks Clovers

This is a novel that catalogs both kindness and cruelty, in the most unique of ways. It teaches us that true beauty is unyielding empathy and compassion, and living for the world and not ourselves. It reminds us that chasing the crowd may rob us of beautiful experiences, ones that we never have a chance at again. And most of all, it instills a faith and a hope in us -- that the magic that we seek out inside fantasy novels may exist in our so often mundane world, disguised as a fleeting girl with curls.

I loved this book, I finished it in 2 days after I got it. It was super interesting and a lot of action and romance. I would totally recommend this book to children who like random events and a girl who loves helping people. This book has a lot of suspense and it gets really interesting you don't want to stop, and This book can make you feel lots of different emotions. It also can inspire you to help other people and do somethings for others. It will be a great novel for people of all ages. This book is a one of a kind book that Jerry Spinelli has made and I can't wait to read Love Stargirl.
