About this ebook

Starting over was the goal—falling in love wasn’t.

I came back to Trickle Creek to open a brewery and build a life for my daughter.

Falling for the uptight bookstore owner next door? Not part of the plan.

Delaney Hart is all closed doors and cool glares—especially when my construction noise crashes her book club.

I try to charm her. She shuts me down.

But the more we clash, the more I want her. And when a snowstorm traps us together… all bets are off.

She thinks I’m just another smooth-talker like her ex.

She’s wrong.

Because I’m not walking away.

Not from her. Not this time.

This is the story of Ethan, a single dad, and Delaney. They are each beginning a new chapter in their lives and start with a not-so-cute meet. Each MC has a back story that makes their current caution believable so, when they finally do decide to move forward, it feels real. The characters are well-written, their dialogue isn't cutesy or over the top, and the 3rd act mini-breakup is a bit contrived but still believable. Best of all, it is resolved quickly.

Both Delaney and Ethan are carrying emotional baggage left over from past relationships, making them wary of commitment. Their initial meeting is fraught with tension and disapproval, and yet they need one another in more ways than one. The addition of Ethan's precocious pre-teen daughter adds levity to the plot, although Quinn shows maturity despite her youth.
