This is the first book I've read by Melissa Collins and I am now a forever fan. It's no secret that I love m/m books, and when On Solid Ground came across my invite list, something about it called to me. These two characters were just screaming at me to read their story. So, I took a chance and I have to say this book is one of my favorites of the year. Loved. It. Hard. Loved it so much that when I was done reading it, I started it over again. I'm having a hard time letting go of these men and this incredible story. Dax is a soldier with PTSD and Beckett is a sexy tattoo artist. They meet by chance when Dax wants to get a tattoo of a fallen brother. There's just something about Dax that calls to Beck. He's strong, attractive and just a tad vulnerable. Dax is immediately drawn to Beck but neither one knows that the other is gay. Their mutual discovery of each other is funny, sexy and emotional. Dax has an anxiety attack and Beck seems to be able to calm him with just a touch. The meet, fall in love, breakup, get back together is WAY overused and got old very fast. In between the childish fights and makeup sex, the author lectures about smoking, teaches about PTSD, service dogs, how to have anal sex, and tattoos. She falls into cliche repetiveness about both character's huge penises. At the height of her rediculousness, the main character 'learns' anal sex after being shot and barely able to walk. Did I mention adopting a 4 year old girl? The dog made this disaster worth 99¢.

Melissa Collins is one of my favorite authors, you know, that one author you will read the book without even reading the synopsis. This book took every single emotion out of me. I loved every single page of this book, it was an emotionally story, filled with love, pain, sex, forgiveness and also self improvement. Before I tell you my love for this book, I want to congratulate Melissa, for being an amazing author, being able to make you live every single word of a book its a job that not every author can make a reality and you have make this flawlessly since book 1! In the M/M world you are amazing, you can make anyone read an M/M because you just write them with so much truth in every word that us, readers, fall to deep in your words. Now lets talk about this book.. Dax and Beck, a soldier and a tattoo artist. Sounds hot right? Well it is for sure! Both are my favorite, I can’t just pick one they both stole my heart! This is the story where love is love at the fullest! Im not saying it because its an M/M book, I’m saying it because it was amazing seeing who they overcome their past, they both had their own trouble but together they make it through, they helped each other heal, t
