About this ebook

When Jacob “Dax” Daxton returns home from war, he has to fight a new battle – the one to find his place in the world. The man who normally has a clear path to victory surrounded by brothers in combat is suddenly lost and alone. After meeting Beckett Ridge, a bearded tattoo artist, Dax’s journey begins winding down an unexpected path.
Still reeling from events that shook his foundation, Beck has never been part of anything meaningful. Now faced with responsibilities foreign and daunting, Dax’s broken spirit mends Beck in ways he never even knew he was destroyed.
As both struggle to find balance, they are healed by the comfort they find in one other. On the other side of chaos, they hope to find themselves On Solid Ground.

The meet, fall in love, breakup, get back together is WAY overused and got old very fast. In between the childish fights and makeup sex, the author lectures about smoking, teaches about PTSD, service dogs, how to have anal sex, and tattoos. She falls into cliche repetiveness about both character's huge penises. At the height of her rediculousness, the main character 'learns' anal sex after being shot and barely able to walk. Did I mention adopting a 4 year old girl? The dog made this disaster worth 99¢.

This is the first book I've read by Melissa Collins and I am now a forever fan. It's no secret that I love m/m books, and when On Solid Ground came across my invite list, something about it called to me. These two characters were just screaming at me to read their story. So, I took a chance and I have to say this book is one of my favorites of the year. Loved. It. Hard. Loved it so much that when I was done reading it, I started it over again. I'm having a hard time letting go of these men and this incredible story. Dax is a soldier with PTSD and Beckett is a sexy tattoo artist. They meet by chance when Dax wants to get a tattoo of a fallen brother. There's just something about Dax that calls to Beck. He's strong, attractive and just a tad vulnerable. Dax is immediately drawn to Beck but neither one knows that the other is gay. Their mutual discovery of each other is funny, sexy and emotional. Dax has an anxiety attack and Beck seems to be able to calm him with just a touch. They both have pasts they want to hide and unless they can open up to each other they are going to lose their only chance at true love. Dax and Beck are both hot, sexy, funny and sensitive and they hav

About the author

Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it's been a dream.

Her passion for writing didn't start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn't long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa's brain and The Love Series was born.
