If I needed some clarity on how to handle a situation like this - this book gave me it. It made me feel like it's okay to do what you need to do to grieve your pet, and there should be no hard judgement from myself or others for that. It's almost like this book has gone "hey, you love your animal as you would love a fellow human in your life and they have passed away. You can grieve for them just as you would a human. And it's not weird."

I am biased obviously, but I personally chose not to read this book in its entirety until it was published, why ,because I am still greiving, Marty was my best friend. I fell in love with Remus the second I laid eyes on him . So this book book has helped me understand the why on how I'm feeling and reading through it's reinforced that the toughest decisions we had to make were the right ones for our boys , thankyou nikki ,Amazing read .

This book is amazing, I wish I had access to it years ago, it is beautifully written with obvious understanding and empathy. The personal stories and professional references are really helpful to validate all of those past and present feelings of sadness and guilt and enable me to move forward. Fur the Broken Hearted will be on my gift list for friends and family who are trying to navigate the difficult decision to support their fur babies during their final days. An excellent read.
