Palmer never felt like more than an average high school kid—until the day he discovered the portal. One moment of reckless curiosity pulled him through a hidden doorway into a world of magic and monsters and stats he could suddenly see ticking upward. He was a player now, able to level, fight, and grow stronger as if he’d stepped into a brand-new game.
But with every quest he completed, one question gnawed at him: If this world is a game…what did I leave behind?
The answer is worse than he imagined. The portal isn’t a glitch—it’s a hack. A bridge between servers created by malicious players who intend to carry their hyper-leveled characters into Earth’s simulation. If they succeed, no one back home will stand a chance.
To stop them, Palmer must team up with a handful of others like him and any friendly player allies willing to help hold the line against an onslaught of reckless and bloodthirsty PvPers.
Their best chance is to stop every new breach before it creates a permanent bridge, and enemy players destroy his world, to put an end to the…
Incursions.
Joe has been writing for most of his adult life, in between bouts of serious online gaming. He continues to write fantasy novels, in both adult and young adult genres, in his selfish need to create worlds that amuse him. That others enjoy the work is a happy coincidence
but one that he fully appreciates. With a Bachelor of Arts in English from the Arizona
State University, he is both an avid reader and addicted gamer. He writes novels part-time and longs for the day when those efforts pay some bills—seriously, even just one bill would be nice. For those of you who purchased copies of any of his books, he is eternally in your debt. Note: this is not a legally binding contract. He currently lives in the perpetual summer that
is central Arizona (technically there is a winter, for about three weeks in January). Joe attributes much of his success in life to good looks, incredible talent, obvious modesty, luck, air conditioning, friends & family, and the readers who keep coming back (despite his insistence on writing for himself)—though not necessarily all in that order. Oh, and his computer.
He hopes you enjoyed this book.
