My name is Barbara Wehman. My husband Norman and I lived in San Jose, California, for forty years – where we had our four beautiful and wonderful children – Diana, Matthew, John and Sara (Sally). Norm and I moved to Mariposa 22 years ago. It is in the Sierra foothills, about 40 miles from Yosemite National Park. None of our children still live in San Jose. Sally and her daughter Lindsey came up here to Mariposa at different times and for different reasons. John lives in Colorado with his family. Matt and Diana live in California, in the Sacramento area. I will soon be 85 years old. I am still in very good health, except that I have macular degeneration, which my mother had as well. I am legally blind, but I can still see well enough to read, write and watch TV. But I can no longer drive. My daughter Sara is my caregiver and stays with me. One of the reasons I have had my book printed in extra large print is because of my eyesight, and for other advanced-age people who may also read my book.
