James Clerk Maxwell

James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1879) was a Scottish physicist and mathematician. He is best known for his pioneering work on electromagnetism. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Maxwell was educated at Edinburgh University, where he studied mathematics and physics. He went on to become a professor at Cambridge University and wrote extensively on the subject of electromagnetism. His work laid the foundation for modern physics and is still considered one of the most influential contributions to science.
