I was never a big fan of Spongebob but i found the first movie pretty funny, but the second movie didn't do it for me. The plot was a mess & absolutely made no senese. The humor is really only for kids & the title is so misleading because it's only in live action for like twenty minutes. The pirate was incredibly stupid & was so cringe worthy. The movie got an extra star because there were a few laugh-out-loud moments but not enough to make a good or even decent movie. Overall, it's not worth the price.

This movie starts out great. I still don't know how to feel about it. Once it went to the bubbleish 3D style I just didn't like it anymore. The story is crazy just like anyother spongebob, but I felt let down. This seems like it should be a 30 minute episode. I like the concept of getting the formula back. Its just crazy adding all kinds of different things. And you get the sense that they have done this story before, which they have. They just added some episode stories and combined them. But it's still ok to watch. This is more for kids who don't care about story or characters. But we all loved the rap at the very end, that was so funny.

Uninspired and tiresome are two things to come to mind watching this. I was always a big fan of the series since I was little, and even the first movie is still charming to me. This movie though, I was so upset. The storyline is muddy and full of completely absurd deus ex machina...on top of being the same tired plot that has been done and dead in the show. This was nothing I could ever bring myself to enjoy or watch again.
