Waste of time. IMO, worse than Cars 2. Cars 1 was great because it was a kids movie about talking cars with tons of parallels to actual car things and travel things in the real world (and a great moral) This, like Cars 2, has none of that. Great animation, great as a popcorn flick, but little substance. (And on a more personal note, I think it had a lot of potential to be much better. Most of the movie is spent with Lightning doing.. exercises.. because cars have to "train" their bodies to be better at racing? What an incredible missed opportunity to simplify racecar engineering [you know, *actual pit crew stuff*] and tuning for kids. They've all played NFS and Forza [yes, even as quite young children], so it isn't like they wouldn't understand.)

Many critics were pretty split on the film, but it doesnt deserve any hate it gets. I liked it alot mainly because of the film's slower moments where the emotions run wild with almost each scene, where a character would stop to think questions regarding the situation he or she have never asked themselves before. It was funny, encouraging, an all around good movie.

The first cars movie was a beautiful peace of work. I cannot belive how hard the series crashed like the ice age movies. The second was almost like a four year old imagined the whole way through. I then saw the 3rd one, and oh my god. It just did not ring the Disney bell. I thought it was universal. But at least it was not as bad as 2.
