If you read the book and loved it, don't watch the movie. I did not read the comments before buying this to watch for a date night movie and had read the book recently. I was sorely let down by how far from the book the movies had gotten. Book 1 to movie they kept as much as they could in film adaptation, book 2 they let a lot of details get changed but stayed true to the major story lines and in book 3 and the final movie they just threw the entire book out the door. I get that some people don't like what happens to Tris in the book, but that is part of the amazing choices an author gets to make. She made the right choice in what she did in the writings, I am disappointed with how far from the book this series has gotten. This is just Hollywood cashing in at this point.

Terrible actress, Shailene Woodley, displays as much emotion as a doorknob. This has been obvious throughout the series but you would expect progression at some point. The plot had an immense amount of holes, was wholly obvious and annoyingly tedious. The exclamations during the flight sequence felt more like a Monty Python skit than being of any substance. No danger was felt for any of these characters. Awful, awful movie. Not even worthy of being called a popcorn flick. Three thumbs down.

"Allegiant" was one of the most disappointing ends to a trilogy that I have ever experienced. At the end, it felt like nothing was resolved or accomplished except that now everyone was more aware of their present situation. I enjoyed "Divergent" and "Insurgent" far more than this movie. I expected a much grander movie plot than "Insurgent" and was sorely disappointed. Jeff Bridges, who was supposedly the "villain" in this movie, had absolutely no teeth. Naomi Watts, as the rebel leader of the Factionless, was diminished to some minor warlord in an inconsequential country. After "Divergent" and "Insurgent", I was motivated to go read the entire trilogy. This movie completely killed that desire.
