This is definitely much weaker than the previous movie. The introduction of the characters played by De Vito and Glover were both very irritating in their own ways, and they took the focus away from what should be a fun story. As well, the foul language and crude body references were really out of place and unfortunate. It didn't add anything positive to the story or characters, but did prevent this film from being the family adventure it should be.

I'm such a fan of the original Jumanji, so maybe going in expecting to get a revamped version of that storyline set me up for a let down. It didn't even have the same concept besides it being a game (that they modernized from a board game into a videogame) with a jungle theme. But in its own rights it was ok. It was funny and had a good storyline. Also seeing Kevin Hart and The Rock costar alongside each other is always great.

It was a funny movie, fast pace, mature audience. Not appropriate for small kids. With that said, the concept to Jumanji was ruined completely! This doesnt compete with the first one at all. 1. Robin Williams going into the jungle (which they twisted and made the whole movie that) was 1, I repeat ONE Turn! Going inside as brutal as it may be was your role of the dice or in this the videogame would be intended for a specific player to go inside while the others continue until your turn comes again. Pt.1 was brilliant it took 30yrs for it to come back around to Robert Williams turn, and it doesnt stop there! 2. There wasn't no 3 lives!! What in the world is that?! When the sister got hit by the poisonous flower she was going to literally die if by chance they didnt land on Jumanji and reversed everything time itself. I can go on but the cheap 1 min connection in one scene doesnt justify ruining a classic.
