About this movie

Get even more thrills and chills in Alien: The Director's Cut, a special edition of director Ridley Scott's science fiction/horror classic. For this digitally remastered special edition of what many have called the "scariest movie ever made," Ridley Scott has incorporated new never before seen footage. The terror begins when the crew of a spaceship investigates a transmission from a desolate planet, and discovers a life form that is perfectly evolved to annihilate mankind. One by one, each crew member is slain until only Ripley is left, leading to an explosive conclusion that sets the stage for its stunning sequel, Aliens.

Film itself is legendary, but the 'Director's Cut' was a cash grab; 20th Century Fox just wanted something to sell alongside the Director's Cuts of Parts 2 and 3, so crammed some non-canon deleted scenes into the original film. Ridley Scott has gone on record to say the 'Theatrical' is his proper vision, so just go back and enjoy the original over this version.

The theatrical cut is better. The director's cut is just here for fans who want to see some deleted scenes added in.

Ridley Scott, Sigourney Weaver & HR Giger's masterpiece.
